We Got Tired of Bad Hair Bands. So We Built a Better One.
Vayla was founded in 2025 in State College, PA ... and yes, we're students.
Maya Anderson, CEO, is finishing her degree in Biotechnology at Penn State. When she couldn't find a hair accessory that held well, sat comfortably on her wrist, and didn't wreck her hair by noon, she used her science background to design one from scratch. That's the Versa Band.
Riley Maynard, co-founder, brings a background in Cybersecurity and systems thinking. Every product that ships is quality-checked. Every order is packed with care.
We make everything by hand. We ship from State College. We answer our own messages. We're not a big brand with a warehouse; we're two people who built something we're proud of, and we want you to feel that difference when you open the package.

Designed With Intention
Every Versa Band starts with a question: why doesn't this already exist? We chose soft, durable nylon for its elasticity, recovery, and gentleness on hair fiber. We hand-assemble every band. We test on real people with real hair: thick, fine, curly, straight. Quality at Vayla isn't a tagline. It's how we decide what to make.
Working Toward Better
We're not going to tell you we've arrived. We're actively working to convert to biodegradable materials and reduce production waste. Our packaging is already minimal. Our products are built to last because the most sustainable thing any product can do is not need replacing. We'll keep you updated as we improve.

Help Us Do Better
We love constructive criticism and are always striving to do better. Not 100% loving our product? Help us improve by leaving a review or reaching out directly. Every piece of feedback shapes what we build next.
